For those who are not accustomed to the name “Halliday Wine Companion” or simplified “Hallidays” then a short introduction is needed. James Halliday is an, sorry, the predominant Australian wine writer/critic and senior competition judge. He has penned over 40 books about Australian wines, world wines, wine regions, wine makers and how to guides. Since 1986 he has released an annual review of Australian wine, which was in the early 2000’s renamed James Halliday (Annual) Wine Companion. So, he’s bona fide, the real deal and knows a thing or two about Australian wines.
