Carefully selects the best parcels of fruit according to ripeness from the various blocks of Chardonnay that are made up of three French Chardonnay clones. Each clone has its own flavour spectrum that is individual, where some are picked earlier to obtain lemon and citrus characters and other clones are picked later to obtain peach and mango flavours.

Vineyard | Soils throughout the region are also highly variable in structure and chemistry. They can be described as a mixture of sandy loams, loams and clay loams over clay subsoils that vary in structure. It is not unusual to find these soils combined with shale and ironstone. The differences in topography and soil type can affect wine growth and this contributes greatly to wine styles.
Styled to be most respectful to the best that Hills fruit can offer, sourced across the best estate and grower blocks. Multi-clonal and cleverly steered through a range of barrel sizes (25% new). It's all about crisp, ripe stone fruit and subtle citrus-focused chardonnay with delightfully balanced oak sitting in support, developing a creamy palate while holding excellent length"
