THE BLACK CHOOKSHIRAZ

McLAREN VALE | SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Eleven consecutive years of 90 points or more from the world’s most authoritative wine reviewers. Now that's something to cluck about!

The Shiraz grapes were co-fermented with a small amount of viognier which adds a vibrant perfumed aroma, stabilizes the deep, rich colour and gives the wine fine, supple tannins.

TASTING NOTES

Bright aromas of red cherry, berries and lifted floral notes with hints of licorice and spice. Generously loaded with red fruits, the palate is balanced by fine, supple tannins and lingering spice notes. A soft, round shiraz with great fruit length, generosity and drinkability.

Vineyard | On the foothills east of McLaren Vale,
the original narrow-planted Penny’s Hill Vineyard produces lower yields of high quality Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache for wines of texture, complexity and interest. Slightly cooler than the valley floor, the site experiences even ripening temperatures and by precise canopy management, produces fruit of a quality which ranks it among the district’s best.

LOVE THIS FULL BODIED SHIRAZ

and Viognier red wine blend. The Black Chook 2019 is floral on the nose with dark cherry, earthy, savoury herb, pepper and toasty oak spice flavours generous on the palate. Great food-friendly acidity to pair with BBQ beef ribs"
